I think I dressed right, although differently! I wore a long pencil skirt(to my knees), a nice white blouse, a navy Abercrombie blazer, (only 20$!!!) and black short wedges. As for my hair, I did half up in bun, half down curled. All 5 interviews went well and I got compliments from all of the woman who interviewed me!!

Oh gosh, I feel like a grandma now, I wore a knee-length black skirt, a silk white strap undershirt under a stiff black blazer with an atrached belt. And then diamond earrings and a red necklace. No compliments :(

@bsroxmysox: Don’t worry-I didn’t get any compliments, either!

Oh, wipes forehead, good, I thought I was just being punished for letting my mom pick out my interview outfit!

@bsroxmysox: At least your mother didn’t request you wear something out of the 1800s; I’m glad I chose my own outfit! Even though it didn’t receive any special attention, it represented me very well (and who cares beyond that?)

Excellent. I definitely underdressed. Even at DA where everyone is preppy here is what I wore:

Plaid long sleeves button up
Jeans
Vans purple/black checkered sneakers
No jewelry

^ I’m guessing you got a lot of compliments, haha

@PxAlaska, did you not know that Deerfield has a formal dress code, or did you deliberately do your own thing?

I interviewed at home. via Skype so I wore a shirt with Hawaii shorts haha

@GMTplus7 while I would like to imagine that I am unique and deliberate, I’m more often clumsy and a misfit. So no, no clue. I noticed everyone in the viewbook was wearing tie/shirt/jacket, but I thought it was a formal occasion sort of thing. I didn’t realize it was daily. I don’t have any formal clothes. Even the dresses I have are summer dresses kind of thing

I wore my school uniform haha

I wore a pleated skirt with tights and a peter-pan collared sweater. I did off-campus interviews and I was attending a fashion week event the same day so I don’t think my outfit was perfect for an interview, but it was okay.

During the only off campus interview I did, I had just finished taking the SSAT on a Saturday. I met with a graduate who was currently attending Princeton University. I was a total mess. I knew I did poorly (my results later confirmed that) and when I’m stressed I have a habit of pulling my hair. I looked tired, poorly dressed (jeans/hoodie for comfort) and just overall terrible appearance. I think it showed because as we talked my voice was unenthusiastic and dreary. I’m not expecting an acceptance letter to that school.

I straightened my hair for all my interviews, but it rained for every single one. I didn’t have an umbrella and there was quite a long walk from train stations for a few of them, so my hair looked a mess.
I wore my school uniform for midweek ones and smart trousers, a black blazer and a plain top for the others.

Obviously make sure you’re neat and look nice, but I don’t think what you wear really matters. They aren’t going to accept/reject you solely on that. I know I didn’t look great at one but was offered a scholarship based upon good interview scores.

@hamburger110 Nice :D

I think as long as you aren’t wearing anything that resembles what Ke$ha wears on her covers, then you’re okay. (Not that I’m criticizing her choice of wardrobe, but PROBABLY not appropriate for HADES)
Nevertheless, my mother made me look like a mini Investment Banker. Jacket, slacks, some fancy-ish shirt that I don’t remember, and black flats. I even had a briefcase.
I think I know what I’m going to be for Halloween… :P

There was one boy in a full, old fashioned suit, wearing a bowler hat, carrying a fancy stick thing and a briefcase at one school. It was brilliant to see, not sure what the school thought though :D

School: Hum, very fancy. The briefcase is a nice touch, as long as no bombs are hiding inside there…

Love the briefcases guys.

@bsroxmysox: Thanks :D
