The title essentially says it all. The guy is a CFO and I will be meeting him at his house on a Friday, if that’s pertinent.
Are you a man? A blazer or sport coat over a dress shirt, if you have one. If it was at the CFO’s office, I would wear a tie. There is very little expectation at alumni interviews for the interviewees to dress up today, but if this alum is older and all business, there’s no harm in going a little bit more formal.
Business casual. So a step up from jeans or cargo pants. Men: Dress shirt. Nice sweater optional. No tie. Sports coat/blazer. Women: Nice slacks or a skirt. Blouse - not too low cut. Jacket/Blazer/nice cardigan all fine.
Yes, business casual is the typical dress for college interviews.
Men: nice pants, button down shirt, sweater (optional), blazer (very optional), dress shoes or topsiders.
Women: dress pants/blouse or skirt/blouse , sweater (optional). Nice shoes or dress boots. No low cut blouses and no super short skirts.
Yes, I meant to put blazer/jacket optional. I’d wear a sweater or a jacket. I think in the winter you look a little underdressed otherwise, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have one! You just want to look neat. The dress code wouldn’t be any different if he had some other profession.
BTW although I try to show up nice dressed when I meet with my clients for evening meetings, (I’m an architect), inevitably they all seem to have already changed into sweats!
