What type of engineering for robotics?

I love robotics and I was wondering what type of Engineering I would need to major in to study it.

Electrical. You'd also want to have some understanding of mechanical and computer, depending on the specific nature of your interest.

You can either do Mech E or EE depending on what you really want to do.
Do you want to do more of the deisgn or the programing or the wireing? I thought about taking the Systems route which here is a MechE / EE hybird type thing or getting a general engineering degree, or even a Mech E with a concentration with robotics.
But no, Im thinking its EE with a robotics side track right now. Things changed once I got here.

I really wanted to do Mech/Aero for undergrad but I also love robotics ... so is EE the only way to go?

No, you can definitely be a mech eng and go into robotics.

Do take a couple of EE courses, though, just so you know something about circuitry. Last I checked, most robots run on electricity.

haha, coal fired steam engine robotics.

i'd assume as an me you'd be required to take a few ee courses. for aerospace at ucsd, i'm required to take linear circuits, signals and systems, and a few others...obviously not bringing me up to the level of an ece, but giving me something to play with.
