Our school is really diverse. There’s a unusually high amount of Russian people, Jewish people, (even more so Jewish Russian people!). White people are almost a minority(missouri). live in a fairly middle-class neighborhood, but bus goes into the St Louis city so it picks up a lot of lower-income kids. I think 1 or 2 in each class is sent to an Ivy League school a year, as far as I know. Last year’s top 10 went mostly to our state flagship, a bunch of universities in Cal, and the valedictorian to Darthmouth.

I don’t know much about the athletics, but we get a lot of kids each year going into the all-suburban/all-state band/choir/orchestra and whatnot. Not to mention, our school has won several awards for recycling and composting initiatives.

Public. 2200 students. 81% white, 13% hispanic, 3% black, 3% asian (nearly all South Asian). Practically no east Asians or jews. Pretty diverse though in that their’s a ton of foreign-born whites, especially polish (my spanish class has two Magdalena’s. seriously.). Academics are average, the number of AP classes offered (13) is considered low for an LI school, especially of this size. 6/10 on GreatSchools, 2/5 on schooldigger. 87% grad rate. 50% go on to 4-year college. it’s a pretty good school i guess and i like it but most people from different schools ask me about how rough it is.

Suburban; public: ~1200 kids: 46% Black, 45% White. Some Hispanics; only a handful of Asians. 86% graduation rate. 44% are low income and on free or reduced lunch plan. Rated as the best public HS in Delaware and 3rd best overall in the state, and made the Newsweek “America’s Best High Schools” list from 2008-2010 and 2012. Was the first school in the state to establish an IB Program, which enrolls about 300 kids in total. Only 9 APs since most of the high achieving kids are in IB and don’t have room on their schedules to take APs. Most kids end up going to the local CC, the University of Delaware, or random state schools, but 1-3 kids per year end up going to Ivies, and a handful end up going to other top 40 schools.

A little over 2000 students. Pretty diverse school. Public. Not very competitive overall. Only 1 AP course. We have a separate IB program which is where the school excels. The rest of the students have an average SAT score of 1400. Yikes.

Private school in DC and its super chill. If you want to wear your pajamas to school go ahead. If you don’t want to wear shoes go ahead. If you want to sit on the stairs for lunch go ahead as we have no rules on wear you can and can not sit for lunch!
