what University can give full scholarship for SAT score 1240?

for international students with SAT 1240 , is there any university / college that can give half or full scholarship?

Is that M + CR? about 620 per section?

No that is the overall score 1240 out of 2400. It must not be full scholarship but which can give me significant help.

So, are you saying that your individual scores are in the 400 range?

Please excuse me if this sounds harsh, but do you understand that scholarships are offered to students with strong stats as an incentive to have them attend that school? Typically, the students that are offered good scholarships are scoring in the 95th percentile or higher.

A 1240/2400 SAT is about the same as a 18 ACT, which is below the 40th percentile. Many schools won’t even accept students with those scores.

Again, I’m sorry that this seems harsh, but there aren’t any schools that will give significant help to students scoring below the 40th percentile.

ok,are there any cheap colleges that that I can afford by on campus employment or any loan?

answers will likely be found on your other thread…

you are not helping!!!

Natigeta, your SAT scores really are not sufficiently high to garner merit aid anywhere I can think of. Are there any colleges in your country where you could begin your college education with the chance of perhaps transferring in the future…or doing grad work here in the U.S.?

Natigeta, it would be much more helpful if you post your actual scores since many schools do not consider the writing portion at all. Also, most merit awards are based on your gpa so that’s needed as well.

D’Youville in Buffalo awards decent money for fairly low scores and extends scholarships to international students. This school has a good reputation for healthcare related areas and is in an urban location.

[Merit Scholarships](http://www.dyc.edu/admissions/undergraduate/merit_scholarship.asp)

Community colleges and other 2 year schools are usually the lowest priced schools in the US. Some CC’s do have scholarship money and also have transfer agreements with 4 year universities. After you have 30 credit hours, your SAT scores will not be a factor for transfer admissions. This may be a good way for you to save some money and study in the US.

Good luck!

Our nearby community college does have scholarships. But, to be honest, a 1240 would not qualify for much of a scholarship even there.

I have GPA 3.74, is that enough? and thanks all of you 4 ur help.

No. Most scholarships require high SAT/ACT and high GPAs. Very few, if any, are based on GPA alone. This is because there is no way of really telling how the GPA from school A compares with the GPA from school B or C as there is no standardization of grading or curriculum between schools. The SAT/ACT are the same for everyone who takes them so it is possible to compare like to like.

At my daughters school for instance a GPA of 4.0 is not eligible on it’s own for any scholarships but with her ACT of 32 (equivilant to @2160 SAT) with a GPA of 3.75+ she got a full tuition waiver plus a cash scholarship. With a slightly higher ACT she would have got a higher cash award. But with a SAT of 1240 you would not get any sort of scholarship at her school whatever the GPA.

How about taking the SAT one more time, or the ACT (if they offer it)? What really helped me improve my SAT scores was to buy a study book off of Amazon (I got the official one for only a few US dollars).

If the OP is going to take the SAT or ACT again, then he needs to target schools that will accept a later test date for scholarship consideration. Some schools don’t.

giftedgothic, on page 1 of this thread, the OP reports it is 1240 out of 2400.

I know. 1000-1400 is the average at my school out of 2400.

Natigeta: Scholarships for international students is limited to begin with, only the very top international students have a chance. Add to that your scores are very low. Third as an international students, work opportunities are limited (mainly on campus and less than 20 hours per week during school year etc.). Campus employment is at at about minimum wage. That will not cover very much of your tuition, board, etc. Also, you have to get a F 1 visa, which the school needs to sponsor, hence you need a school that has dealt with international students. Consular officers will look at the college before giving a visa and will look for financial situation. Not all community colleges do offer aid. Also many community colleges charge higher fees for international students, so it is not the same rate as in-state.

So you should try and take your SAT again rather try with that score. Consider all factors before you apply. good luck.

giftedgothic, what is the school that u are in?

Natigeta…giftedgothic is a High School student…currently a senior. He is not a college student.
