i opened my mail box, and i saw a big packet and i was like "okay, this is probably from american or bard" and then i saw it was from nyu and i ripped it open and iw as like what the f!?!?!??! and i screamed this really high pitched scream and i just started like dancing across the street to show my brother, i literally think i did an irish jig, because i wanted to move while dancing and i couldn't walk or run.

i proceeded to tell everyone i got into nyu and scream at really high pitches. then i shakily called everyone on my fav 5 :D

I received the email at 10PM. My first reaction was "DADDY!!! What is this? COME READ THIS THING!!!" We both read it about a thousand times because it was the first time I saw the words "offer of admission" and I was afraid to assume and then be crushed. Eventually we decided to just call long-distance in the middle of the night and confirm and the poor woman who answered had to confirm it three times before we were sure. It was the stupidest conversation ever: "So... does that mean she's in?" "Yes, good luck." "Thank you. But are you sure?" "Yes, really." "Thank you. But really?" "Yes, really."

I'm still psyched! Especially since I received an "unlikely" letter from Wellesley and assumed I was going to be rejected from all the schools I applied to...

my mom sent me a text saying that there was an envelope saying "Congratulations!" and that it was from NYU, so I ended up leaving my internship early to go open it- I was so excited!

I found out that I got into the music business school, so I was very, very happy :)
all I got was a little invitation letter, though.
(so yes to your question, lilypad! )

Heh, I got the letter, grabbed the bottom left of the envelope w/ my left hand (conveniently covering the “congratulations, join us” part on the letter.) The night before, a friend in Berkeley told me that small letters usually = rejection, so I started freaking out, opened it- went o.o, checked to see if my name was on it, and then noticed the congratulations and pretty much went -_- before calling about 10 people. Looks like I’m going to Stern now Conveniently, I got rejected from UCSB the same day (confused everyone), turns out UCSB made a mistake though [just found out a week ago].

i came home 8th period to pick up some papers for class. normally my mail doesn’t come till about 230 so i wasn’t expecting anything since it was only 130… but when i got home something was clearly protruding from the mailbox… i looked in and saw New York University and jumped up and down, w00t. =D

I was waiting by my door since I woke up that day, and ran out to the mailbox. I saw that it was a large envelope and my heart started beating like no other, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up, so I kept on thinking “maybe it’s just one of those brochures”. I went inside my house, ripped it open, read “Congratulations!” and started sobbing so much so, that my dad came running because he though our dog had gotten run over (?!). Then my friends dropped what they were doing and came over, we had a huge dinner, and saw a movie. It was a wonderful day.

Hah, bondgirl, I enjoyed reading your reaction! My D was so sure she would be rejected that when she opened the envelope she was so overcome she just fell on the floor (but I guess such a dramatic reaction is to be expected from actors!). It was a day I will never forget!

It was on my dad’s birthday in mid-March, so I wasn’t really expecting any mail from any colleges until late March. My mother got the mail and told me that there was a letter from NYU with a smile on her face. I had a quizzical look on my face since I was kinda confused about her smile (like how would she know if I got in or not?) and then I read the “Congratulations, join us!” on the envelope and jumped for joy in the air a couple times! Great birthday for my dad, and great day for me. :)

I saw that it was a small envelope and I completely expected it to be a rejection until I realized it said congratulations on the front. I opened it, jumped up and down a little bit, told my mom, then went to my friend’s birthday party where like 3 other people had just gotten their letter too.
