LOL

poor azn males

"Note that men appear much more receptive to first-contact e-mails than women. The median man (in terms of photo attractiveness) can expect to hear back from the median woman with an approximately 35% chance, whereas the median woman can expect to get a reply with a more than 60% chance. Figure 4.2 also provides evidence that more attractive men and women are "pickier.""

rofl.

Race of partner? How so? Would that mean that girls are looking for someone of their OWN race? Or, as you seem to think, whites have a better chance than the rest, and Asians have the worst chance?

I'm sure that MOST Asian girls are still looking for someone of their OWN race - however - perhaps one could wonder - do white girls pay more attention to race than asian girls?

I dunno, i don't have the subscription to this article.

Which means that most Asian males have a better shot than us Asian-loving Caucasians.

InquilineKea, I haven't read much from the link, but I'm curious to know whether these observations refer to permanent relationships (e.g. marriage) or superficial ones (e.g. dating, hooking-up).

It's true, especially now. Girls are getting pickier in response to the increased weight guys put on appearences these days.

It's kind of a "So you want to play it THAT way, huh?" sort of game :) And I am not making this crap up, less guys at my school are getting dates and girls are getting better ones.

women do not put any emphasis on intelligence, much less SAT score. That's not even debatable. That study is junk. Women have a real self-report bias...trust me, the hot females I know exclusively talk about how hot guys and various celebrities are.

I agree with wutangfinancial

yeah i'm gonna have to agree too.

Money, Money, Money, and if you don't have those you better look good. And there have been multiple studies that show women are a lot more racist in their mate choosing than guys are. We usually will hit anything that will give us a chance regardless of race and as long as their not fugly (for some this doesn't matter though. Whether we will commit is totally different though.

Stupid (and most average) girls don't care about how intelligent their partners are. Most intelligent ones do very much.

I've dated dumb guys before (high school...didn't have much selection, anyway)...never again cringe

Maybe it just seems this way to me, but I suspect that there's a much larger number of intelligent guys ending up with average to stupid girls than the other way around.

...and I'm not complaining, trying to be mean about it, or anything of that sort. Just saying... :/

I think intelligent guys are about the same as intelligent girls -- we prefer our mates to be intelligent. Many of my peers and I do, at least. It's much higher up on our list than looks, especially when it comes to relationships (not as much for mere sex).

They all want the D, lets just leave it at that.

I disagree. Society values intelligence because increased intelligence is linked to increased levels of money. Since you can't directly predict the amount of money someone will make in the future (ESPECIALLY if the students are college or high school kids - although this study doesn't describe the sample), intelligence serves as a proxy to measure such earning power.

Besides, I know girls who have liked me in the past. The only redeeming quality I have is my intelligence. Other than that, I'm emotionally unstable, irresponsible, and completely out of touch with most social values.

It all depends on the woman.. this is true for some and FAR from the truth for others, probably most, lol.

I don't mind average intelligence (genius =/= required) but dumb guys just make me cringe. I'd rather pull out my fingernails than talk to, much less date, someone idiotic. This is not to say I don't like physical attributes too. I wouldn't date a guy I didn't find attractive in some way either (who wants to have sex with someone unattractive?), but different things attract me to different people: it could be eyes for one guy, lips on another, etc. My "thing" recently has been brown hair and freckles.

Women don't know what they want. Ever try listening to a woman's advice to get with her friend?

These kinds of thread always end in smack fights between wutangfinancial and whichever female poster is feeling the most combatitive at the moment. Let's just admit that, in the selection of romantic partners, physical attraction will always come before all other qualities, and leave it at that.

I'm really surprised nobody's posted the intellectual prostitute (for the lack of a better non-censored word) theory yet:
