What you do in undergrad?

Do you have to major in exactly the same subject to go to grad school for that field as long as they're related?

For example, can you work on a Ph.D in chemistry after doing say, biochem in undergrad? Or a Ph.D in accounting after doing actuarial/financial math undergrad? Or a Ph.D in management after doing economics?

Generally, you can do grad school in a related field pretty easily, providing you have enough background in the grad school field.

What DespSeekPhD said was about right. You just have to demonstrate your competence through your research and academic record.
