stupak I know 2070 is pretty low for Stanford but still a person could get into stanford with that grade. Chances do diminish but there still is some chance. (I honestly don't know anyone who got in with a 2070 but I'm sure there are some...)

a 2070 will not kill all hope; stanford has no cuttoffs..

as for SAT IIs, anything about 750, or 760 is considered competitive.

"so many people got 800s" - i got 800, but it was the 88th percentile sooooo.... that means about 11% of thoes who take the test have gotten 800. which means.... the curve for IIC rawks. :)

Oh my gosh me too! did you take the Math II of June, 2005 edition? I was like, uh, this is kind of bad.....How do they do it anyway? I asked this question somewhere else and people told me it's not that 12% get 800s, it's 12% hit the ceiling of that particular test...but I just don;t get it. Does it mean 88% is the highest percentage you can get?
