My downloadable forms were sent out a week ago and my addional teacher’s recommendation was sent out two days ago, but Brown didn’t give me any feedback about whether or not they had reached the board. Does that mean the board has received them or the opposite? I’m a EDer, so I really don’t want this to affect my application.

You get a username and password to track your application two to three weeks after your application is sent in. That will enable you to check if teacher recs, test scores, counselor recs, transcripts, etc. were received. You, like most of the rest of us EDers, waited to smooth out the bumps and turned in the app not long before the deadline, so you won't be able to check if everything is received until after it counts.

I believe that teacher recs just needed to be postmarked by November 1, however, so you are safe. On the other hand, one of the teachers I had asked to write me a recommendation was in a terrible car accident not long ago, and although she said that those recs she agreed to do would be sent out and I totally trust her word, it's rather nerve wracking since I can't get in touch with her.

Thank you, daveb. I'm sorry to hear about your teacher's accident. I do hope she is now OK and can mail out the recommendation for you. Good luck to all the CCers applying to Brown's ED! Have some faith that all will turn good!

Got my id and passkey today. Is it possible that it's two weeks after Part I was sent in? My part 1 and teacher recs were received by Admissions on the 19th, and Form 3 was only sent this Tuesday..

I sent my Part I on Oct. 14th, my Part II on Oct. 28th, and received the username and password today, but haven't got any info about interviews yet.

When I checked my status online, everything was received, the forms, transcript, rec letters, and test scores, but there was no "received" date for form 3 (personal statement) or form 3B (PLME statement)! Does this mean my essays and part II app weren't received, even though I got an email confirmation after submitting it online?

I'll email admissions, but did this happen to anyone else? Your responses are greatly appreciated as they will either assuage or exacerbate my feelings :)

Generally speaking, if something doesn't have a "received" date, you can infer that it hasn't been received yet... But that is odd since you submitted Part II and received your tracking information, yet they have no record of receiving your personal statement (since that IS Part II). That might mean that you are not eligible for the ED applicant pool as of right now. So definitely contact admissions ASAP

An alum will contact you for an interview when Brown receives all of your application and then passes your information on to someone in your area.

Since you sent your Part III on Oct. 28, they definitely have received it (anything by 5pm EST on Nov. 1 would be considered for ED).

In light of the thousands of applications, they probably just haven't processed it yet, which is why it does not show that it has been "received" on the app status site.
