I want to get some opinions on this book because my local bookstore/ any other bookstores I know of doesn't have this book, and therefore I can't look over the book to determine whether it's worth buying. What I have heard of about this book is primarily from Xiggi's posts, which recommend this book. Since I have no access to the book at bookstores, I'm going to have to rely on those that do have this book. Please tell me what's good about Maximum SAT. Thanks.

bump......

Come on, someone here has this book...

The Amazon reviews are all really good, but there are only seven of them. I'm also thoroughly convinced the publishers and friends of the author write most of the early glowing reviews for just about every book, so who knows.

I don't have it but you can read the reviews on Amazon.com

Thanks Icer, but I wanted a CC perspective on it.

Bump. I'm curious, too.

And bump again

Add me to the list of curious people

It seems that nobody (me included) has heard of this book before, so sorry that I can't offer my opinion on it.

However, it's worth noting that Rusen Meylani (with an Amazon RealName badge and all) gave it five stars; Meylani has a CC account (I think it's just 'meylani') and is the author of one of the most extolled SAT Math IIC books.

Which just proves my theory even more: The people giving glowing early reviews are friends of the author or work for the same companies.

Hi Guys,

Peter is a friend, that is correct; who helps students here just like myself. I have never seen or met him apart from our conversations in this forum and I have absolutely no reason to compliment on his book Maximum SAT. Moreover I do not work for him and he does not work for me and we do not work for the same company. We reside in different countries; as you may know I am a foreigner.

However I do find Peter's book "Maximum SAT" excellent; the reasons are:

The book covers all of the key concepts and does not bother with the uncommon details.

It is written by a person who actually works in the area of training students who take the SAT's; therefore it is very clear that he knows all of the common weaknesses that a typical student has.

The book is ideal for short term studies and for a quick brush up. If you want bits and bytes you should look elsewhere.

As an educator myself I have seen years of experience in that book.

I hope this answers all questions about my comments on "Maximum SAT".

Rusen Meylani.
