What's in the Yale supplement?

Since Yale's supplement doesn't come out until Sept. 1, I'd like to know what's on it so that I can get a head start. I already their essay questions, but are there any short answer questions (such as why do you want to go to Yale) that I should know about?

It should be similar, if not exactly the same from last year’s supplement.

^Yepp. They ask “Why Yale?” and then they have like 6 or 7 questions that you’re supposed to answer in one sentence (and they’re really random questions that I no longer remember).

What are they, specifically? Or are they so short that I don’t really need to know them ahead of time?

Just random ones like if you had a free afternoon what would you do?

You really don’t need to know them ahead of time (short and sweet). But since I have my apps saved, it didn’t take much for me to find them. Here they are:

What in particular about Yale has influenced your decision to apply? (500 characters)

You have already told us about yourself in the Common Application, with its list of activities, the Short Answer, and the Personal Essay. While we leave the topic of your second essay entirely up to you, try telling us something about yourself that you believe we cannot learn elsewhere in your application. Please limit yourself to fewer than 500 words.

Short Takes (all 175 characters):

 1. What would you do with a free afternoon?

2) Recall a compliment you particularly valued. What was it? From whom?

3) What two qualities do you admire most in others?

4) What do you wish you were better at doing?

5) What question would you ask to form a group of Yale students?

I hated the short takes. It’s one thing to express yourself in three thousand words (or 500 for the essay) but it’s another thing to do it in twenty.

I don’t recall numbers 2 and 5 for the short questions above from last year.

^Yeah, they weren’t there for our year, Gryffon. Wow, this whole app thing seems ages ago. We were the guinea pigs for the short takes. :)
