I'm only a sophomore, but I've known for a while this is the school I want to go to. I've heard Tufts is big on diversity and that's not only why I want to go there, but why I think I have hopefully a better chance of getting in.
About me:
-completed MYP
-all AP schedule planned for the next 2 years
-already taking 2 AP classes now
-scored in at least the 98% percentile in all areas of PSAT
-very strong in standardized testing
-have a paying job
-only a 3.4 GPA right now :(
-white
-interview well
-writing is my strongest area and I hear essays are very important
-in top 10% of class
-gay
-willing to apply early admission
-willing to save up to visit the school between now and applying
-very low income home (I'm eligible for so many grants I will pretty much get to go for free)
-hold 2 officer positions in Best Buddies club
-leader of tech team for my school and theater club
-180 community service hours in the past 2 years alone
-no siblings who have been to college
I'm willing to do everything I can to get in. I want to start now while I have time to really make things happen. Does any have any suggestions?

If “very strong in standardized testing” means you score 2200+ on the SAT or 33+ on the ACT Tufts might become reachable, as long as you’re not applying for international relations (really, Tufts seems to enroll a disproportionate quantity of IR majors) and you show an upward trend from 3.4.

Remember, Tufts is both a reach for anyone and a rigorous school (but somehow they still grant some AP credit so choose your APs carefully) even though it meets full need. Do you have a safety?

My family has a total income below 30,000 annually, so no. If I don’t get scholarships and grants I will not be going to college at all.
All my APs are social studies, sciences, social sciences, and English. Since I plan to major in anthropology, I think this is suiting. (I’ve been told is very random; however saying I have a passion for it is an understatement)
I’m sure I can score highly on SAT and ACT and I’m willing to put in the effort to get as close to the scores you mentioned as possible. I’ve already started studying.
