Does anyone know how to convert British degree's into a GPA. I got a high 2:1 (67%). I've been told its either a 3.5 or 3.6. Does anyone know?

you should talk to your advisors at your school. it varies, depending on the school.

The programs might actually not want you to convert it - it depends. Contact the program, let them know you're a UK student, and ask them if they want your grades translated into US GPA or not. Otherwise, the British Council may be a good resource (http://www.britishcouncil.org) While they are primarily for US students looking to study in the UK, they have experience translating degrees between the two and can answer your question rather quickly, I believe.

I would have to agree with hopefullyIvy that there tends to be no real concrete position on the issue, at least from the U.S. to U.K. equivalency As a U.S. B.A. holder looking to do postgradute study in the U.K. my experience has been that these figures are very school specific. For instance, one U.K. school may consider an upper 2:1 to be a 3.3 GPA while others may equate it to a 3.5 GPA.
