I'm getting excited about going up to Bing next weekend! Right now I'm just obsessing so I've been wondering about dorms and meal plans. I heard CIW is the best dorm, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to meal plans. Thanks! :D

The meal plan is a little weird (at least compared to other schools). It’s basically ala carte. You get what you want, and then pay for what you get on the way out. You don’t swipe your card and then have as much or as little as you want for one set price. So I guess you put a pre-set amount on your card, and use it as you would use a gift card.

Oh, so there aren’t like a set number of meals plus dining dollars? I think I actually like that better. Wow, I’m liking Binghamton more and more! :D

Each of the communities are very different. I currently live in Bingham (the new building) and I love it here. I know people who are happy in all of the different communities. Newing is known to be the most social and is normal corridor style dorming (except for the new buildings)while CIW is thought of as “stoners” this consists of both suites and corridor style living. Mountainview is just really far away from campus but is made up of completely suites and is thought of to be less social. Hinman is really close to campus and also suites. Dickinson is also corridor style. It really depends on what type of experience you want. In general suites are less social then corridors. As for the meal plan again, you pay for what you buy.
