Like you, I'm not into the greek thing, nor will I have a car at all in my next 4 years there. But, I have no doubt that Wash U will offer great oppurtunities on BOTH an academic and social standpoint. There are plenty of people just like you, and numerous other activities to be involved in. And in terms of not having a car, I heard that a MetroLink was just built in front of Wash U, and it will be free for students... Don't not pick Wash U because you don't think you'll have fun; yes there is around 25% in greek life, but a much much higher percentage of the students that go there are happy.
I don't know much about McGill and Claremont, but I do know that they have a similar "greek scene," if not bigger.
Good luck with your decision.

Greek big at Wash U? I think not!

There's more going on in the neighborhoods near washu and accessible by the shuttle than there is in the "city" anyway... don't worry about boredom, it's not like it's a college town. As far as greek life...while people rush/pledge to meet more people, you'll make tons of friends even if you don't. And everyone hangs out with eachother anyway, greek or not.
