Hey,
Lots of the schools I'm applying to offer a Computer Science major in their school of engineering, as well as their Arts & Science's school. I really want to know what the difference between going for either of them would be? Is the difference school specific? (Like for e.g some say that CS from the EECS dept. at Berkeley is valued more than CS from L&S)

I think what you are looking at is one that is more of a true computer science and one that will be a bit more computer science and design. However, CS is such a new and changing field that often even within one university there is disagreement about where it belongs (It isn’t as heavy on science as many engineering courses but it at the moment doesn’t quite fit in as an arts course). The best way to determine is to call the school and ask.
