I swear that there’s a scholarship that lets you go to England for the summer as a rising sophomore or junior in college. I believe its a program run by one of the very prestigious post-grad scholarships like Rhodes or Truman. I can’t find it anywhere but I really want to apply. Even if its not a thing this year I want to feel like I’m not crazy.
You’re likely talking about the UK Summer Institutes run by the US-UK Fulbright Commission: http://www.fulbright.org.uk/going-to-the-uk/uk-summer-institutes
However, they do give a preference to applicants who have had “little or no travel experience” outside of the US/North America, but will still consider “strong” applications.
