When, during the course of a conversation, you actually say the letters "LOL" aloud. It's totally annoying.

And I think Princeton definitely has an adversary now! Haha... except we're still way cooler.

it's just as bad as proclaiming "jk" or screaming "W.T.F.!" ;)

She is actually quite brilliant but... well. She's a bit... eccentric. Okay, she is probably officially losing her marbles. She is a nice person, and when I needed her she was actually a great mom who was always there for me. But I get very frustrated with her now because she is not connected to my kids due to all her eccentricities using up every hour in the day... (Anyone seen As Good As It Gets? She goes in that direction.) It is actually sort of tragic as she won't get any treatment & doesn't see anything wrong with her odd obsessions.

Re your worries about not getting in, I really hope you all get in!

But believe me there are other schools that have a lot of the Brown spirit & magic and I bet you've got some of them on your list too. People who love Brown are also just cool, happy people who would love lots of wonderful places. I bet if I had gone to Vassar or Grinnell or Carleton or wherever, I would be raving about them on those other forums... but I still root for yout to get in to Brown.

Not as bad as saying w00t.

or "teh roxxorz"... oi vey (i'm polish, so i can say that) :P

Has anyone used CC lingo when talking about college to friends, like adcom, stats, GC, EC, etc.? I definitely have, and my friends usually have no idea what I'm saying, and then I feel very unhip.

lol, me toooooo. sometimes i think it is common sense for ppl to know those words, but...they just dont. lol

Definitely not lol

Sometimes I think it's common knowledge that Brown is in Providence and is an Ivy League school, too. You'd be surprised... ugh.

I say stats, adcom, and EC, but no one thinks much of it. It's just easier.

And since I do have a select few friends who do go on CC, we often talk in those arcane abbreviations amongst ourselves (as well as refer to CC as 'CC'). :p

Hahaha. I'd be like:

"Oooooh, you wish you knew what I was talking about. Take that!"

jk. I honestly try to avoid talking about college with my peers at school. It's crazy, everyone is applying hella ivy leagues and sometimes they don't even know why they want to go there. Well, we do know why, but of course they're gonna be too ashamed to admit it.

Hella! I love it. NorCal represent!

But I agree. CC works as an outlet for my college angst. Without it, my friends would most definitely get annoyed with my college ramblings.

hahahahaha. "hella" annoyed. ;)
