I'm taking Physics 2212k (Calculus based) at GSU this semester, and it is the most difficult class I have ever taken in my life!

The reason why it's so difficult is we get assigned homework for which we haven't gone over in class yet, we do labs that cover different material than what we do in class, and then the tests have questions that we haven't seen anywhere before. The book does line up with what is talked about in class, but that will not prepare you for the exams.

Thank God for Yahoo answers and Google, because I have found answers to most of the homework questions this way, and I even found formulas on a hidden page in the teacher's website! The formulas saved me on the 1st test, but I did so bad on the 2nd one I might as well have not taken it... I hope I pass this class.

I have a friend who is a Physics major here at GSU, and he agrees -- there is something wrong with the way that Physics is taught at GSU. He's pretty good at Physics, but he and his classmates are struggling in the upper-level classes for the same reasons -- a lack of clarity, and mismatched course materials.

Any thoughts, similar experiences, suggestions out there about Calculus-based Physics at GSU?
