When are decisions coming out? Today or Tuesday?

@santana9237

Well off course it’ll be tomorrow. If it wasn’t there’d be a storm of angry parents and applicants afterwards.

It’s almost scary. Tomorrow, we’ll know for sure. I think the uncertainty has kept the real anxiety from entering me. As much as I want my decision, I ,of course, only want acceptance, rejection actually scares me because this is my top school.

Don’t keep your hopes so high for the tomorrow’s decision. I am not so optimistic! Who knows what kind of glitch they will have tomorrow… Today, one of the kids in the Admission Office told me early February.

They didn’t do Feb 1st last year even with all the snow.
They’re not going to do so this year either (I have hope). They would literally be inundated with calls, emails, and visits from thousands (they told me they had 24,000 decisions to list) of people wondering where their decisions are.

So nervous!!! Hopefully I get in, im in state

If students and parents would stop emailing and calling, maybe the admissions office could get the work done by their scheduled release date of JANUARY 31st. As my daughter would say, “First World Problems.”

@MDdad2012 I’ve been THIS CLOSE to hashtagging #firstworldproblems on these threads but I know people would tell me that this isn’t twitter hahahahha

LOL. This thread definitely deserves that hash tag.

@MDdad2012, don’t worry, Admission Officers are doing their work. They don’t answer the phones anyway. Students are doing!

Students are doing?!

I meant that the students are answering the phones. These are the work-study students.

Alright… I’ll be fine if they release the decisions tomorrow, but releasing them AFTER tomorrow will be unacceptable. I know it’s hard to wait (I’ve been checking literally every 5 minutes for the past couple hours), but they are on their way. I just told myself that I need to get my as into bed, sleep, wake up, go to school, come home, go to doctor’s appointment, and before I know it, I’ll check my e-mail for the 5000th time, and it’ll finally be there-----acceptance or rejection (**** that).

What do you say? Let’s work together to live another day without mentioning UMD?

I called the school and they said early action for fall of 2012 will be released by February. To me, that means tomorrow… I’m going crazy however because they are my first choice and I’m from out-of-state. AND I applied into Philip Merrill which is LEP

They also said you will get an email regarding a change to your decision… THEN you can log onto your account and check it… so you might want to refresh your email instead of your account :P

If its relevant to anyone, heres the email I got back from UMD:

I feel like “by February 1st” could mean on that day, and honestly, I’m not sure I could wait ANOTHER 24 hours…

^ Thank you for that.

24,000… wow. That’s a lot. Does anyone know how many applicants there were beforehand (last year and the year before)?

about the same… and they accepted a little over 11,000

edit: according to college board which does not have a year listed… but I’m assuming last year

Oh i was refreshing my email. Maybe too much eh say hehe

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using CC

ahhh I’m freaking out! This is the school of my dreams!

question: do they just mail decisions? or do they post them online also? and if they do post them online, do they send you an e-mail telling you that a decision had been made, and that you should login and check it?
