When are Mid-Year Reports Due?

  1. Certain colleges I've applied to like Brown require Mid-Year reports, but only offer vague deadlines. Brown says you should send in your report as early in April as possible. Anyone know if it's acceptable for me to send in my reports around April 10?

I mention that date because that’s when my Winter Quarter grades will be finalized so I figure I might as well send those in instead of getting a report now during week 9 of a 10 week quarter.

  1. Would it be acceptable for me to send in an transcript like I'm considering, or does the school specifically want a mid year report form?
  2. Another question, is this generally the same for most schools with March deadlines or does it vary?

As for the deadline, yes April 10th is acceptable. As soon as you get your grades, send it. Colleges expect you to take some time to send these in, which is why the deadline for transfers is often pushed back so late. For the second question, I’m not so sure. You should call Brown quickly and ask what they want to see. Colleges in general are lenient when it comes to the midterm report and other materials because they know that each college has different dates for these kinds of things. I sent mine in late February, but that’s because I had already taken tests that could be used to give an accurate midterm grade. If your only test is in late March, then you have to wait before your academic capability can be properly judged.
