When are music schools likely to change their web sites for next year's admissions?

For those who have been around music admissions for a long time, when do college music programs and university general admissions sites typically update their web sites to include next year’s admissions requirements (audition dates, prescreen requirements, testing and application requirements, etc.)?

I have noticed a couple of schools have this information up (or tentative audition dates, at least), but most do not. I’m trying to get an sense of when that typically happens. I know audition dates usually do not change much from the previous year, but I know that whether or not a school requires a prescreen on a given instrument can change from year to year. Also, more schools are going test optional in some form or are dropping the requirement for SAT/ACT with Writing so all of that would be good to know, too.

We’re trying to figure out what college visits/sample lessons to try to get in this summer, and some of the above may help us narrow (or expand) our target school list. Yes, I know summer visits aren’t ideal, but you take what you can get. Thanks!

It was a mixed bag. Some had web sites update in June, other not until September! Also, do not start common ap early. My D worked on entering data in July when she had a lull before camp and it was all wiped clean about a month later! Sometimes the early bird doesn’t catch anything.

Our experience last year was that most websites were updated sometime in August. I think there were a few that were before that and one that was September 1st. Tuition and fees were updated last, sometimes much later.

Common app has traditionally opened on August 1st, I believe, but they’ve changed the roll-over policy for next year:

Hmm…I was afraid it might not be soon. Good to know the change in Common App policy and the details. My DS will probably focus on writing essays in July between camps in any case. Thanks for the feedback!
