Are international decisions also sent out by regular mail?

Have any ED students received RTT information yet? I’d like to know about it as soon as possible so I can start planning…I’m probably over-concerned about this.

do international students get early writes as well?

@altolove don’t worry about not receiving the Ride The Tide email, according to my son (ED1) the only information is what was posted on the Facebook page with the dates of 18 - 19 April.

@PlatonicCaveman international acceptances are sent out by Fed Ex, with a follow up email. All others go snail mail.

There is more than just the dates, there is a link for registration for RTT in the e-mail. I haven’t seen the Facebook page, but a schedule and the registration link are provided by e-mail.

I might be a little frustrated if I were an ED admit to still not have the details on accepted students day (which is what RTT is, I think). Those who need to get plane tickets could use the full schedule of activities. Swat’s competitors are on this – U of Chicago had all the details available to EA applicants with the actual acceptance.

If it helps any - the events start with class visitation Thursday morning, open houses, student panels, etc in the afternoon, more class visitation and other activities Friday morning, and done with lunch at 1:00 on Friday. It is recommended to check in by noon on Thursday at the latest.

@intparent Just remember that EA is not binding, so Chicgo needs to make sure their EA students have the same information because it is not sure they will attend Chicago (some folks use EA as insurance). ED is binding so the students are in, my guess is while Swarthmore wants these students there as well to build the excitement for the RD students, there may not be be the same priority to get all the info out to the ED group.

Does anyone know when we’re supposed to get our financial aid info?

What is the latest info about decision date ?

early writes apparently just went out?

In another thread, momof3boys said that she was expecting the letters to be sent on last week, Thursday. I think the letters will be mailed either today or tomorrow. Lafayette sends them tomorrow. Maybe Swarthmore also:D

Any more news?

I found this on Swarthmore admissions facebook page in response to a post.
“Applicants will be notified of their decision on or before April 1. All decisions will be mailed. Applicants who live outside of the US will also receive their decision via email.
Best, Swarthmore Admissions”

So have they mailed them yet? Hard to believe we may not hear until Monday, although for that to be guaranteed you would think they were mailed by today.

They have been mailed. DD received her (fat) envelope today. We live within an hour of Swarthmore and it was sent regular mail.

applepie25, could you say us where you live?

In the other thread, momof3sons wrote that the letters were mailed on Tuesday. So I was just wondering in how many days the letters arrived where… The photo they posted on Swarthmore Admissions Facebook Page is really cool:) It is also interesting they posted the photo today, although the letters were sent on Tuesday.

robcol - We live within one hours drive of Swarthmore, in the NW suburbs of Philadelphia.
I liked the photo on FB as well. My guess is that the admissions department took a well deserved break on Wednesday! :)

^Yeah, agreed! (And thank you for the answer) And as far as I understood, Swarthmore likes to keep everything about admissions process in secret:)

Rejected! A little disappointed, but I got into UChicago EA and am probably going there over anywhere else (mostly for financial reasons), so I’m okay with it :)
