I have a common app account and I was wondering when it would roll over so that you can select fall 2017 as a start term. I know of some schools such as Shenandoah (I’m interested in direct entry bsn programs) have rolling admission and will accept applications at any time but other schools have set dates. Thanks!
The common app roles over to the new year annually on August 1.
Okay thank you!
And keep in mind that many high schools are not ready to complete their part of the application (ex. sending finalized transcript, recommendations etc.) until late Sept., early Oct. You should check with your guidance counselor to see when your HS will be ready to send things out in the fall.
This is a bit random but do you happen to know if old common app accounts are deleted or can’t be accessed after Aug 1?
New this year, they will not be deleting accounts in July like they used to.
I would suggest, however, to start writing your essay now based on last year’s essay questions and to create a list of ECs, dates, hours spent, descriptions, etc. Also talk to teachers about writing recommendations letters.
I heard that the essays were going to be the same so I have started compiling ideas based off those.Im probably going to end up doing a majority of my application over the summer and then just getting my transcripts and everything as soon as school starts next fall (my school has them available pretty quickly). Just so I don’t really have to worry about much except for trying to do my best on my courses next fall if most of my application is already done.
maddie6199 definitely do this…you will be so happy you did. Senior year courses are challenging plus you usually are very involved in whatever ECs you have.
