When College Advertisement Has Gone Too Far...

My favorite was from Schenectady County Community College about twenty years ago. It went something like this, a handsome guy walking out of the college carrying a handful of books, he smiles and says, "I like this college because I can major in business, take the classes I want and I don't have to take any math!"

Great ad for a school, come here, we won't make you learn anything.

OMG Trigger333, I saw that on my school newspaper too! Haha, do you live in Oregon? And yew, I thought it was rediculous. How would someone put Harvard and Stanford and THEN Western Oregon?

I like the Skidmore postcards, especially the one that said "FAIL".

Yea, we had the same "Western Oregon University" ad in our newspaper.

The worst part is that I was the editor, but apparently, you can't censor ads due to stupidity...

Mr.B, that's such a shame, not to mention completely insulting to those of attending CCs and working extremely hard. My CC brags about the number of transfers to schools like Yale and Amherst, not anything like what SCCC apparently did. I can't believe a school would do that!

The worst college advertisement I ever saw came in my school's newspaper. It was a piece of notebook paper labeled "What college is best for me?" First, it said Harvard, which was crossed out. Then, Stanford was crossed out. Finally, Western Oregon University--underlined!

Oh my god, we had to run that ad in our paper! I remember editing it and thinking, "This is the most hilarious thing ever!" Everyone agreed, too. Yay for...Oregon?

And yeah, I have come to the conclusion that WUSTL is in love with me.

Yeah, those postcards from Skidmore make me scratch my head and wonder.
