For those of you who have decided to attend Princeton in Fall 2010, was there a particular moment when you knew Princeton was right for you? If not, what made you decide in general? Do you regret your decision?

Copied this directly from another 2010 board.. seems like fun

I still don't "know," but with the incredible fin aid they're giving me it seemed kinda impossible to choose to go elsewhere over Princeton. Besides, I can always transfer anywhere else I want, but I'll never have another chance at being an undergrad at Princeton b/c they don't do transfers.

when I saw a gorgeous boy walk out of the music building

When this hot girl was kinda checking me out on the tour (not to sound concieted or anything) but I knew then that I had to come.

i find it both amusing/ironic that all of these reasons stem from hormonal attraction.

that's not to say that princeton doesnt have a good-looking student body (it does, i can attest).. but i would hardly expect that--if asked why they chose Princeton--Student A's immediate response would be "well this one hot chick looked at me on the tour..."

i know, this [modestly sized] thread has a scent of sarcasm to it. but still.

hell yea princeton has hot girls like UVA

that is why. bush's niece went to princeton. 'nough said.

they certainly won me over!!

Regarding this topic, I will say this.

The ghost of Woodrow Wilson appeared to me in a vision, and he spoke words of truth. I hastily recorded his revelation, and this transcription, a holy relic, is regarded as "The Book of Wilson". Wilson said to travel east, beyond the Delaware River, to a place, flouting banners of orange and black, marking the triumph of sanity over Harvard, the heathen creed, and Yale, the lost ones. "Do not be swayed by their rouses, young master! For they lack the spirit that makes this great institution "the best old place of all", so shove it 1636, for I say "the most artfully labeled vintage often hides the most acrid vinegar."

The revelation dissolved into the night, never reappear again, but alas, his legacy is true, and the Book of Wilson triumphs!

I hope someone is crying tears of joy by now.

At the beginning of A beautiful mind, there was the speech which had at the end "Welcome to Princeton, Gentlemen".

i was listening to the a capella concert under blair arch on the last night of april hosting. they looked happy. i was hooked.

i knew the moment our english teacher at school decided to make our class study a beautiful mind!

kjoodles: i actually rented out dat movie agn a few days ago jst to have dat professor say d welcoming speech to me now dat im actually going to pton hehe

welcome to princeton everyone!

Oh and during april hosting when shirley tilghman (I believe) said something like "This is Princeton's class of 2010" and everyone started to clap like crazy.

a beautiful mind is a great movie, but i hate how they sexed it up because some clips of it are just lame imo

I don't know ... I sort of drifted into it ... and I was about to send in my waitlist cards and pray when I realized that even if I got into Amherst or Williams off the waitlist, I was already too emotionally invested in Princeton to give it up. So I took myself off the waitlists, and I've never been happier!
