I assumed that PP loans would be need to be paid back 6 mos after graduation like Student Loans, but I saw the following blurb that has given me pause… since it says that each PP loan (for each college yr) is a separate loan, it follows that the PP loan (freshman yr) needs to begin repayment after this was disbursed (last term ) of first yr. Is this true?
'When does the PLUS loan go into repayment?
‘The repayment period for each Direct PLUS loan begins on the date of the final disbursement for that loan. Unless the borrower receives a deferment or forbearance, the first payment on each loan will be due within 60 days of the final disbursement of that loan.’

EDIT
This might answer this question…to begin repaying after graduation, the parent need to request a deferment (WHERE and HOW ?)
'When do I begin repaying my loan?
'Your Direct PLUS Loan enters repayment once your loan is fully disbursed (paid out).
'However, if you are a graduate or professional student, your loan will be placed into deferment while you are enrolled at least half-time and for an additional six months after you cease to be enrolled at least half-time.
'If you are a parent borrower, you may contact your loan servicer to request a deferment
'while you or your child are enrolled at least half-time and
for an additional six months after your child ceases to be enrolled at least half-time.
If your loan is deferred, interest will accrue on the loan during the deferment. You may choose to pay the accrued interest or allow the interest to capitalize when the deferment period ends. Your loan servicer will notify you when your first payment is due. ’
