I see classes start on Jaunary 26. When do students head back? When do the dorms open again? Thanks!

Classes always start on a Wednesday, and dorms open the Sunday preceding it. Students come back whenever they like I guess, there really isn’t one set time.

I typically come back one to two days in advance. Dining halls aren’t open so I try to save as much money as possible by staying home until the last minute. Thayer St. can become VERY expensive. Though there are some places downtown that are pretty reasonable during lunch hours (just eat half for lunch and save the rest for later)!

Oh, so when do the dining halls open again?

This year’s schedule isn’t up yet, but here is last year’s!

In the time I’ve been here, the Ratty opens the night before classes begin, and everything else opens the next day.

According to the listing (thanks, Ambitious) the Ivy Room and BLue Room are open before school starts in January so I guess a student could use points for that, right?

burry, you’ll want to check about using points before school starts. Food services in the past has had specific beginning and end dates for using meal plans/flex points.

Yea, I still don’t completely follow the dining rules during the break periods. All I know is that my wallet gets thinner and thinner the earlier I come back to school.

IIRC from last year, your meal plan (i.e. all points and credits) only comes into effect the day classes start.

Wow, that’s important info – thanks! I assume it’s the night before classes, though, since the Ratty opens, but still…

They will probably make an exception for the Ratty the night before classes start, since no one would actually pay cash to eat there. But I remember having to pay cash at the Blue Room at some point in time, since my credits were not in effect yet.

Going to the Ratty the night before classes start is a terrifying experience. I am dreading Tuesday.
