My question is the title
90-95% of all students regardless of major will receive their admissions decision no later than March 1. Historically, it is the last week in February. UT, and this is true of a lot of universities, tries to release their decisions on a Friday.
Some students, however, will receive their decision early. I know some applicants in Liberal Arts, Natural Sciences, and Communications have already received their decision. These applicants submitted prior to mid-October and would have been admitted by March 1 anyways. They are either exceptional academically, or are strong students who demonstrate financial need.
Last year, some exceptional students who had applied and already been reviewed by early December learned by the middle of the month. This goes for all majors including business. Not hearing back early is not indicative of not being successful - nobody is ever denied early.
Respectfully, take posts on this site with a grain of salt. Historical evidence shows that the timing of decisions is haphazard and NOT indicative of any relative exceptionality of a particular applicant (IMO, all are exceptional!). You will find on prior years’ posts that there is NO rhyme or reason as to who hears from which program when. Even this year, there are students whose stats exceed those of the admitted pool with no decision yet and some with stats below the admitted pool with decisions already.
