When do we get our decisions?

Well I got an acceptance packet today (So Cal), but when do we hear about the scholarships?

Can you provide more info on your acceptance packet?
Size/color of envelope?
What did the acceptance letter say - to indicate that you are accepted?
What else was in the packet?

Last year's thread for USC, in which people received acceptance letters, did not start until the middle of March.

thanks.

Actually, it was the beginning of March last year (2005).

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=37864&highlight=accepted

wow, usc gives out acceptance so early. I thought they begin notification in march.

I'm waiting to hear updated information from 'fallenstar0434'. The normal acceptances ARE normally in March. The only thing that precedes the normal acceptance letters, are the invitations for scholarship interviews. I would have expected that if fallenstar0434 received anything this early, it would have been a letter regarding a scholarship. Yet he/she, in the post above, asks when he/she will hear about scholarships. I am confused by the post. Maybe the post was intended to be on a different school's folder. Or, maybe USC has changed it's acceptance schedule. It seems likely that they would have posted that information on their website, or in the emails that they have sent out, or in the letters that they have sent out. It is contrary to everything that we have received from them so far.

Hey there... well i submitted my app for the scholarship deadline and today got the average "big" envelope with the USC logo and adress at the top. Inside was a big reg folder with a big yellow usc logo on the front. Inside the folder on the left was a certificate of admission and on the right was an admission letter, some more information on housing etc along with two information booklets. The information says the decision was accurate as of yesterday the 26th so i guess they just sent it out.

dd got her acceptance letter today! Now, hopefully she'll hear about scholarships soon!

yea its kind of weird isnt it? I thought scholarship interview notification was before actual admission.

After reading that people got their letters already, my heart went nuts, and then dropped. It has begun....

hey fallenstart, what's your geographic location (if cali, norcal or socal)?

He said So Cal.

WOWWWWW ACCEPTANCES ALREADY RELEASED.
I'm in NY...please come soon!

wow wow i'm getting excited already *crosses fingers

Woohoo!!

I just got in. I feel happy. :-)

Update for anxious people: It's a big white envelope with a yellow square at the bottom. US Priority Mail, and I live in Los Angeles.

Can I ask what your stats were guys?

I wouldn't mind making a detailed stats post. Is there a thread for that sort of thing here?

Edit: I'm looking around. If I don't see one I'll start one. Gimme a few minutes.

* WOW *
GREAT JOB you 3! :) congrads.

USCgirl, do you know where we go to submit our midyear grades? I found it on the website once, but I forgot where it was and can't find it again :( ...

edit:
also, people going nuts right now [lol], it looks like only in-staters are getting 'em right now.

Well, my friend last year got her acceptance early late Jan/early Feb. She went for the scholarship interview late Feb. So I'm pretty sure acceptances come first. Congratulations to you all, and for the rest, relax and hope for the best :)

for the people that got their packets can some one pm details about to me thanks and congrats

Last year I got my letter on the first day of February, I live in SoCal and was scholarship interviewed. I got the letter for scholarship the same day I got my acceptance, but some people in my area got it a day or two later. Congrats all of you who have gotten in!

Alright. Package details:

It's a big white envelope oriented like a standard piece of paper (smaller side is on the top/bottom). At the top left corner it has the USC seal in maroon with the "Undergraduate Admission" address. At the top right corner is the "postage paid" box, with "PRIORITY MAIL" written in large black letters. Immediately under those two header components is a plastic window for the address, 2.375 * 5.875 in. At the bottom, there's a yellow square with rounded edges, 8.5 * 1.75 in.

Inside, there's a red folder with the full-size USC seal on the cover in yellow, and "Welcome to the Trojan Family" in white written under it. When you open the folder, the left side has a light yellow certificate of admission with your name on it. On the right side there's a folder pocket with three pieces of paper, one of them on official USC letterhead. That's the one that starts with "Congratulations! I am pleased to offer you admission to the University of Southern California for the fall 2006 term." The other two sheets show your intended major, and give the conditions of admission (send a transcript when you graduate). Behind the three sheets are two nicely bound booklet things. The first is titled "Welcome to USC" and the second is "Living at USC."
