I did not apply for FA and the tab appeared, then disappeared.

damn. ugh this is making me so nervous. i cant focus. i hate that BC uses snail-mail and i have yet to see the FA tab. should the FA tab go up on the 15th?

dontstop:

Yes the tab appeared if you did not apply for FA. But again, BC may have fixed the bug.

Speaking of bugs…UCLA posted decisions online on their admissions website. But, last year if acceptance was in process, creative souls were able to log into the UCLA e-mail server the day before which then linked them to the Bruins Home page, Res Life page, and even the official FA award. Of course, the admissions site was still locked out. :)

does the FA tab go up on the 15th at the earliest?
sorry if i seem all freaked out about it.
im just getting nervous now because my friends are starting to get their decisions one by one…

Dontstopbelievin

I am freaking out too. I didn’t see the FA tab because I don’t check Agora. I should have been checking for this bug!!! Ahhhh the anxiety never ceases.

i checked agora but i havent been checking and now thats all im checking for. this is so completely nerve wracking.

OMG. why have I not been checking agora??? so like ‘dontstopbelievin’ said, will they go up on the 15th??? or is there some sort of time machine i can use to go back and check agora???

Dear juicyjuice7 and all : There is no magic AGORA bullet that turns on or off for everyone in one big process. The acceptance process for EA will go on for days (and by days we mean at least a full week, plus postal mail time). Yes, AGORA has provided leading indicators in the past, but there is no guarantee of the future. In closing, the time to have been nervous about your EA application was BEFORE you submitted your application. There is nothing you can do at this point for Boston College!

Now, the best course of action is to make sure that your secondary and tertiary applications are in order for January. That would be the most proactive course of action to help you burn off that nervous energy before decisions are rendered.

Scott gives EXCELLENT advice. Spend this weekend putting together envelopes for all of those RD apps. Final proof and print. Ask your parents to write out the application check and stuff and be ready to mail (if the big envelope does not arrive from Chestnut Hill).

At worst, you can tear up the application checks and shred the other apps!

I only have 4 tabs under my agora thing. hahahaha

“I only have 4 tabs under my agora thing. hahahaha”

Same here my friend, same here.

haha i only have 1 tab… do you all mean the 4 links under “account and personal info”, or am i really missing something?

Gah! I apologize to y’all for starting this tab-thing discussion.

LAST YEAR, when logging into agora, the standard applicant screen had hyperlinks to five other BC sites (someone once called them ‘tabs’ and that became the nomenclature used on cc):

Admission Status (just said if your file was complete)

Financial Aid Status (just said if your FA app was complete)

Create-Update Mail address

Password Q&A

Sign/Log Out

Of those that were accepted, a sixth link/tab appeared. If I recall, it was called Financial Aid award. In addition, depending on the USPS time, the log-in page also eventually became populated with links to pay your Deposit and to Housing.

Ok, back to Scott’s advice: get to work finalizing those RD apps, so you can watch the Emerald Bowl!

That is what ours looks like.

so is this week most likely when we will hear?

yeppppppppppppppp. keeping my fingers crossed

I’m freaking out. It’s my first non-state school admission notification!!! The latest we’ll receive the letter in December 25th, right? Do you know if they send them out by region or anything? I live really far from Boston…

Does anyone know anything about the Presidentials Scholars notification or anything? I’m kind of obsessing over it…

Letters hit the mail room as they are processed in batch, daily. Regionality is as random as is the USPS for delivering your mail in a timely basis.

Gahhh literally cannot wait!

so nervous…
