When does the entrepreneur know?

I am guessing this is the best place to post this question, since a lot of subscribers have the 'entrepreneurial spirit'.
WHEN and HOW do you exactly know that you should quit all what you are doing and just focus on owning your very own business? This is a rather risky business, but very rewarding as well!
When do you get this AHA moment that your idea can make it big, that you can be independent, and that once you start your business, everything should be fine?
This scholarship got me thinking about the issue: The Thiel Fellowship: 20 Under 20

Now I am a vanilla university student, graduating as an engineer in three months, but I hate the educational system (though I am 3.95 GPA) since it teaches you to follow and not lead; you spend the most important years of your life learning things that you won't use anyway; so for me I really believe every teenager should pursue the opportunity to ditch school and work up his startup!

You never know for sure and that’s why it’s risky. If you suceed then you get the rewards but not before!

Good question. I’m currently wondering the same thing myself. I’m graduating and working on getting into an MBA program. However, I want to build financial wealth, and have little desire to spend the next 35+ years of my life working on someone else’s behalf.
