When is it too late to transfer ?

I know that typically after Junior year, it is too late to transfer but..

lets say a student has 70 credits and he/she wants to transfer to a 4 year institution, is it possible to dump those extra 10 credits and just transfer in the 60 credits and attend the school in Junior standing ?

Each college and university determines which credits will transfer. It is entirely possible to have any number of credits of record, but learn that the new place won’t apply a single one of them toward the specific requirements of a given degree.

Contact the school(s) that you are interested in, and ask them about their specific credit transfer policies.

It depends on the college, but there are some that won’t let you apply for a transfer with more than 2 yrs of credit.
