When self-employed has to "own business" on CSS

<p>Hi, I'm a freelance writer, but the CSS Profile prompted me to say i "own" a business. It doesn't feel like I'm a business owner. I am classified as a sole proprietor for taxes and I itemize my expenses as a writer. Anyway, I would like to go back and change this to say I don't own a business on the CSS registration but want to see how other freelancers treated this Q.
Thanks!</p>

<p>If you file a Schedule C, then you own your own business for purposes of the CSS Profile, and your business assets and expenses will be taken into consideration. Sounds like you don’t have significant assets (a typewriter and a few spare ribbons, perhaps? ;)), but your expenses will get a second look.</p>
