If I submit now, as most schools suggest, but pick up a new activity/award down the road (in the next two months or so), how would I add it?

Schools are more interested in the depth of your EC’s, rather in the breadth. I.e. they want to see passion and skill in an activity, and will not be impressed by activities you have recently added to “pad” your resume.

If you do have a SIGNIFICANT achievement between now and mid-January, you can always contact the school to notify them. But don’t bother to contact them to mention little stuff you have just recently started.

Yes, thank you I am well aware of that.

I am mostly concerned with the little details, such as JV vs Varsity with winter sports, which is only an example.
Would you recommend that they submit or wait until they know?

All applicants face the same issue. If you want to wait, then wait. Just be sure to get the application completed before the deadline.

Sounds good.
Thank you very much.
