When should I visit?

The Open House is from Sunday, April 17 to Monday, April 18, and I would really like to go…

However, AP and IB exams start the first week of May. The last week of April is my spring break. The week before that is the last week of classes before exams, so I assume that these last few classes are important (but are they really?). I don’t know if I should miss a day during this review week to go to the Amherst Open House. There is also an option to do an overnight stay sometime before, in March or early April. What do you guys think I should do? Please tell me how the overnight stays were if you did them in the fall, and are there any current students now who can tell me how helpful the Open House was in making your decision to go to Amherst?

The Open House basically made my decision last year. You should definitely come. Don't worry about classes. Second semester senior year, APs or not, is the only time you can truly enjoy yourself without getting penalized. Live it up!

I think you should go also especially if you have not stayed overnight in the past. I remember last year D came up to Amherst sunday monday & went to Dartmouth thurs thru Saturday. Teachers are aware that students are making final decisions. You will only miss one day of school if that is your only visit and Amherst is at the top of your list.

By the time you are off for spring break last week in April, all of the visits are probably going to be finished because people are finalizing decisions for May 1 and you will still have the whole week to study undisturbed.

Wow, I guess I should go!

hey, is the open house only for the RD people or can kids who were accepted early go too? The only reason I ask is because i figure that they would have told the early kids about it if we were invited?

I'm pretty sure it's for both.
