When transferring from a CC, do AP Courses count as part of Transfer Credits?

Hi. I’m a CC student and I have around 30 college credits from my AP courses. I basically am skipping my entire first year of CC. Over the next year i’ll be taking around 30 credits. However I was wondering if those AP Courses counted towards my total college credits, because some colleges/scholarships require 60 credits to transfer. I’m at CC for financial reasons so it wouldn’t make sense to stay here for another year just to get 60 credits. Thanks!

Check with your target four year schools how AP credit is treated for credit units to transfer.

Note that, for the purpose of subject credit, (applied to specific course requirements) a four year school may treat a given AP score and test differently from your community college or a different four year school. For example, a score of 4 on AP calculus BC may be credited for the first semester of single variable calculus at some schools, but the first two semesters at some other schools.

Would that be different if I had my AA? I read somewhere that the AA is equivalent to the first 2 years at a 4 year and that the 4 year would take any AP credits.

Again, this is very dependent on what your target four year schools want to see.
