I sent in my app on 11/17. should I be hearing back late December? Maybe early January? Will it take longer cuz I am out of state? Is the longer it takes the higher chance of getting deffered? So many questions!!

You should hearback between Mid December and Mid January. You applied late, so it is going to hurt your chances. The length of time it takes to respond is not an indication of the decision (acceptance, defferal or rejection). There is no way of knowing what the decision will be, no matter how long it takes to get back to you. If you have not received confirmation from Michigan that they have all your required documents by the end of next week, call them to chack on the progress.

By the way, are you applying as a Freshman or as a Transfer?

I am applying as a freshmen. Do you already know my stats Alexandre? If not, let me know and I will post them. GPA kinda low, but hoping URM is a big help.

Yes, I remember you. 3.4 GPA with a challenging course load and a 1300+ on your SAT. You come from an underrepresented state and you are African American. So all in all, I would say you have a very reasonable chance...but you did apply a little late. Had you applied a month ago, you would have had a slightly better chance. Still, like I said, all things considered, you are a strong candidate and have a good chance of getting in. Good luck and keep us posted.
