When Will RD Applicants Hear Back?

I applied regular decision and was wondering, based on prior years and what you have heard/read, when applicants such as myself should expect to receive a decision from Bucknell? I know some schools are aiming to send out some acceptances earlier this year to get students more excited, but I don’t know if Bucknell will be following that trend. It would seem logical, though, for a private school like Bucknell that has RD applications down and uncertainties regarding yield to take up this practice.

i'm so excited as well for thel letters to come out. I know they say april 1st on the website. But I'm almost positive they will be put in the mail on march 20th!

I can't wait. I just want to know about all my schools already :)

I am so excited to hear back from Bucknell.

I'm thinking they mail them out on march 20th. But it says april 1st on their website I believe.

Hopefully soon....I just want to know already

im dieing to no.... cant stand the wait : (

I heard march 20th as well.

Would they mail letters to northeast applicants on the 20th?? Any news? I'm surprised by how inactive this forum is, it either reflects the carefree attitude bucknell students/applicants have or their lack of interest/academic excitement. I'm thinking the former.

I'd disagree with the latter as well, JUmpJUmp (and I don't really know how it's relevant, actually). I'm a current Bucknell student, and I think it's just that not a lot of Bucknellians know about CC or visit it much after being accepted. We're definitely academicians, though we do know how to balance our social life in as well. Don't really know what to say about the applicants, though.

Anyway, good luck to everyone. I was an RD applicant as well, living in the NE. I got my letter maybe a day or two after the first non-merit scholarship RD people on CC reported their news. I don't remember what the date was, unfortunately.

In some ways, it's not a bad thing. Lots of colleges that attract a lot of traffic on their CC pages either have lots of speculation regarding admissions time lines or are facing big increases or decreases in the # of applicants, making applicants either over-anxious or over-nervous. My understanding is that decisions will be released by the end of this week or early next week, and no one has really said anything to force me to believe otherwise. To me, that has really instilled a good sense of comfort. Bucknell is also very communicative in terms of contacting applicants and schools when materials are missing and answering any questions, which ensures security and a fair shot for everyone. In other words, they eliminate the need for rumors to spread via college forums.

there was that postcard that came home that said they will be mailed march 20th.

and i've been waiting for bucknell threads foreverr they just like never happened.

yeah, the postcard said the letters would be mailed march 20th and then available on your personal web page shortly after (Welcome to Bucknell's Application Checklist || Bucknell University). it included instructions on how to get your pin and id for the web page if you lost it.

That would be tomorrow folks!!!

I just checked mine (10:07 am, Friday, CST), and there was no decision posted.

If anyone DOES see their decision, would you post that news here PLEASE????? Then the rest of us will know to check it asap.

Good luck to us all.

I called Admission Office. It will be posted on-line midnight tonight.

go Bisons!

Thanks for calling the admissions office and posting...

Yes, thanks a lot for letting us know! I can't seem to find my log-in information letter.

Also, can we confirm that the decision will be on the Application Checklist part of the website?

chronicfuture12, try calling Bucknell if you can't find your log-in information.

I double checked. The admissions office said decisions come out midnight tonight online and letters are getting mailed today.

Yes, I believe decisions should be on that portion of the checklist. At least, that's why I found out from admissions.

YES! I hope this is true. Also, I didn't get that postcard (I don't think). Is that bad? I definitely completed my app, and I'm qualified for the school and whatnot...

also, i heard march 20th, and midnight, so i stayed up until midnight last night.

fail haha

I didn't get that postcard either... although I know that my parents never completed the financial aid forms properly. I don't think that would disqualify me for admissions, though... so maybe my parents threw it out. They kind of hate this whole college process.

That's midnight EST, right?
