Where can I get in?

I am going to be a senior next year at a small (250) private school and I was wondering my chances at these schools (im planning to go into engineering)

UW-Madison
University Michigan Ann Arbor
MIT-major reach
Caltech-major reach

( no class ranks...) I kind of slacked off at the beginning of high school (something I regret and hope to make a point to colleges that it will never happen again), so my cum gpa is a 3.55, 3.85 weighted, but does it help that it is on the up trend??? (I got a 4.1 the last quarter and have decided to kick it in gear next year and do even better) I recieved a 32 on my act(M-34, S-34, R-30, E/W-29) and I took them again and feel stronger about those results, maybe a 33 or 34 (haven't gotten them back yet). I got a 2080 on my SAT's, 790-M, 650-CR, 640-W (not that great, but it is more english/reading based, what im not as good at)

AP's ive taken or will take....Calc AB (junior), Calc BC (senior), AP Gov (senior), AP Physics (senior), AP English (Senior), AP Chemistry (senior)

I haven't taken any subject tests yet, but plan to

Ec's are pretty good i think...
1 I am somewhat of an amateur sound recording engineer, ive recorded a couple different people and bands and have my own little studio
2 Ive been on my Class government every year, and last year and next year will be on my Student body's government in addition to
3 I'm pretty involved with music ( I sing, play guitar(5 years), piano(11 years), saxaphone, bass, accordion and a lil drums) I've been in an audition singing group all four years of high school, which is a big achievement because it only has about 10 pple every year (I am the first male to be in it for four years in our school history)
4 I will be the director of our school chapels this year (i go to a christian school)
5 I participated in the 3 last school plays, 2 roles were major supporting, 1 was the lead
6 Have participated in a Bible memorization team and recieved awards
7 I lead worship for the kids church at my church and help the childrens pastor with alot of other stuff-i also lead worship at my youth group
8 I played football and basket ball, i wasnt that great, but i still played
so...where can I go...

upward trend is good

i agree with what you said about the colleges. MIT is a reach.

Michigan is a slight reach. did you take SAT II's?

make sure to take IIC if you want to do engineering.

o yeah....im also starting a creation science club next year

no sat II's yet, i guess ill take them next time around

should i even try applying to mit??

Yes, it's worth a shot.

what about Cornell and Berkeley, do i have a chance?

Your CR score will hurt you more at Cal and Cornell than it will at Cornell. Try raising that score for a better chance at these 2.

major reaches - MIT, Cal Tech
reaches - Cal, Cornell
reach/match - Wisconsin, Mich

Michigan only uses soph-jr years for your GPA.

Your Standardized test scores/ECs are great. Your GPA is still good. The unweighted is lower than the averages @ Wisconsin and Michigan, but your test scores are well above the average. If your rank is top 10% I say in at both, if outside the top 20%, I think you're stretching it.

Oh and MIT/Cal tech are ... doubtful

you should consider more schools. might i suggest applying to...
