Hi, I'm a high school junior wanting to publish my research paper to round out my interest in research. I would like to publish in a relatively well-known newspaper or magazine print source rather than just a website or blog. Does anyone have an online list of places where I could do this? Thank you!

I would be interested in something like this also.

well , that depends on what you’re working on now doesn’t it

“^^ vv”: Yes, I see your point. However…

I only need general info right now. 2. It will help everyone on CC better if I keep it general.

a senior at my school published his research paper in either junior year or the summer after junior year

Well, some of us CC-ers are making a teen science journal to publish work in. So, if you can’t find a science journal that will publish your work, let me know. PM me for some more details! :)

OR check with your guide.

What about something related to economics or business or government? Where would I be able to publish that?

My qualifications to give my 2 cents: I work with renown scientists who have published in both Science and Nature: two of the most prestigious journals in the world.

The Article selection process goes like this. All the head people of the Journal gather around a large table. They then go through the abstracts of all entries. If the entry is unique and original, they ** may ** select it. Bear in mind, it has to be something truly unique.

You may have better luck with junior journals. However, the major ones will not even glance at your article if you don’t have some unique stuff. Also, if you are just a high school student they will probably just scoff. Its ** all ** politics. You must be affiliated with a major university or with some major scientists. Preferably those who have published.

^ What about having the money to coerce them?

^ They wouldn’t be in academia if they were easily swayed by money.

So basically, you’re saying I (and the OP lol!) should just email one of the editors of say, The WSJ and ask if they’d publish my article or?

No, academic journals (Not a newspaper ie. Wall Street Journal) have an official submit process.

There is a difference between a magazine and an academic journal lol

What are some examples of junior journals, specifically those related to Economics?

lol @ all the CCers trying desperately to get an EC via this

Okay…I just checked back in on this discussion after a long time haha. And @RAlec114 - yes, but it’s not just the high schoolers. Researchers are like this too cause they have to make money.

Note that I was looking for a magazine or newspaper, not a journal. And this post is not even relevant anymore for me since I’m working to get published for my summer biochem research work haha. But thanks for all the replies!

Hello Friend,
You can publish your research paper or journal at:
[IJSER, International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research](http://www.ijser.org)
[Publications & Indexing - International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research](http://www.ijser.org/indexing.aspx)
[Call For Research Papers - International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research](Call for Research Paper- IJSER)
International Journal of Scientific and Engineering research. (IJSER)

Out of dire curiosity, has any individual within the current realms of high school been able to publish any papers at this “International Journal of Scientific and Engineering research” (or other science journals you should name)?

I have heard of CCers co-publishing research papers in real scientific journals, but I have not and I do not personally know anyone who’s done so.

I know many top-notch colleges that have their own journals. Does anyone know if they will accept high school students’ research? Especially the kind that’s been in Siemens/Intel?
