where do i fit better?

<p>So recently ive been doing some research on how Smith and Mt.Holyoke compare to one another and i want a consensus on where i fit better according to my interests and characteristics:</p>

<p>-I want to major in English/govt/econ/womens studies and go onto a top notch law school.
-im kind of a go-getter type person: if i see something i want i go for it
-socially, i want a balance between working and socially interacting with friends. i rlyy am looking to make a close knit group of friends in college and spend time hanging out, going to parties, etc.
-im a strong believer in womens empowerment: which school is more so on this?
-i want to be able to pay back like the least money possible post graduation since i will be swamped with law school loans
-im really big on dance (particularly ballet and cheerleading) which school would be better for this?
-im a liberal christian-unitarian universalist-which school has a stronger uu community?
-in college, i want to be involved in a school newspaper, student govt?, community service projects, uu society, cheerleading and some sort of choir/chorus
-my friends say im more on the sophisticated/sassy/ pearls-cardigans-flats type of girl......which school would i find ppl more like on this level?
-i dont mind hard work but since i went to a rlyy competitive high school i want to take it easy a little bit and learn a lot in college to prepare myself for the competition in law school
-i know smith has an open curriculum while MH has requirements but if these requirements arent that stressful to fulfill then thats ok with me.
-im not rlyy big on meeting guys in college but it wud be nice to like go to events, parties, social gatherings and meet new and interesting ppl
-i want to meet kind and genuine ppl who r gonna be my friends for a lifetime</p>

<p>so where do i belong better? Smith or MHC?</p>

<p>I think both colleges meet your requirements. You'd have to visit to see which is more you.</p>

<p>both are good. I'm a Smith alum currently attending a high-ranked law school; there are Smith and MHC alumnae here. Smith is very close to a small town (which has a lovely UU church downtown), while MHC is more isolated and rural. They're both great schools, and the one MHC class I took was on basically the same level as my Smith classes. I agree with mythmom that you should try and visit both schools--it could easily be done in one visit (probably even in one day).</p>

<p>Both schools answer the same way for pretty much every question on the list, including ballet and cheerleading. You can take ballet classes at both colleges, and both schools have a cheerleading squad. Mount Holyoke's squad has been around for a little longer, and Smith cheerleading started last year.</p>

<p>I would strongly encourage you to visit and tour both, and to apply to both.</p>

<p>"my friends say im more on the sophisticated/sassy/ pearls-cardigans-flats type of girl......"
this is the only point I can"t confirm firsthand from D. Sassy, yes. Pearls and cardigan doesn't seem to be her (and friends') dress code. All the rest A++++ for Smith.</p>

<p>Frankly, don't think it is that huge of a difference. If you can get a better deal from one than the other, it would be worth it to go to the better deal. All things equal, visit and take the one that feels the better to you. If equal, flip a coin.</p>
