I've gone to debate camp for several weeks each year, and I know it's important to show summer activities, but I don't know where they go on the common app.

Where should debate camp be included?

My daughter listed those types of summer programs in her “Activites” section of the common app. Two of them (an engineering camp and a college course/academic program) she created as individual activities. She had one camp that was related to another activity (like if she had been in debate and went to debate camp). In that case, she listed it as part of the comments under the debate activity. Since the description field is ridiculously tiny for each activity and she had some tournament results she wanted to put in, she just put “see additional information section”, then she put some bullets on debate in the additional information document and uploaded that. And one of her bullets was about camp.

Does that help? Regarding hours & weeks, she figured out how many hours per week they really worked on the activity, then number of weeks she was at camp.

Exactly what I was wondering. Thank you!!
