Where do y.ou get your music?

Torrents > Limewire > iTunes

http://cristgaming.com/pirate.swf

woot, downloading! I like that one thing that was like “YOU WOULDN’T DOWNLOAD A CAR” and under it someone put “F**ck you, I would if I could”

Amazon MP3 is an alternative to iTunes; mostly-DRM-free mp3 format = you can actually use the songs in a movie project you’re working on without having to burn a CD first.

I know a site called dilandau.com where one can get free (illegal, but I highly highly doubt you’ll get caught) mp3s, and I’ve used it (albeit only once or twice) without getting any viruses. Download at your own risk anyway.

I mainly buy my music from Amazon.com’s, eBay.com’s, or half.eBay.com’s used CDs. As in, depending on the CD, you only pay $4-$8 (shipping price included) to get all songs the legal, semi-old-fashioned way; much cheaper than iTunes. And you get an actual CD to boot. =P

I don’t see what the big fuss is against buying music. It’s legal and you won’t get spyware and **** that could kill your computer. Plus, the comic that was drawn on MS Paint didn’t mean much to me. It’s true that YouTube users love to spew homophobic messages.

oh god people still use limewire and frostwire.

If you use torrents you can see other people’s comments about a particular torrent. If there’s spyware or any other junk then it will be said.

yeah, it’s just about checking and not clicking anything obviously virus filled. Even on frostwire, like those “Aerosmith and two hot girls have…” shouldn’t be clicked.

I make all of my music.

Google Music. Gotta love living in China. :D

For anyone who doesn’t know what that is: Google signed a contract with the major record companies enabling them to legally offer a large selection of music for free downloading within mainland China, in return for some money. The idea is to provide a legitimate alternative to the illegal music downloading service that their competitor Baidu offers.

Limewire…People still pay for music?

If you want to buy music legally, then I’d recommend looking at used CD’s through amazon. Sometimes you can get a CD for like $3, but it varies. Also, Amazon mp3’s tend to be a little cheaper than iTunes and they frequently will have discounts. Like they currently have 100 albums available at $5 versus the usual $10 or so. And check you local library. I know my library tends to carry a lot of popular CD’s, so you can just copy them.
I buy the vast majority of my music, but somethings I can’t get ahold of some music, (ie: old bsides or whatnot) so I’ve used Vuze in the past. Much better than limewire and there are less viruses.

@BMan22 People still use limewire?

How is eMusic?

I’m not that into indie music, I have a last.fm, but it is hard for me to find good indie bands/songs that I like.

What are some more prominent bands/artists on eMusic?

you can look on youtube for videos and use a youtube to mp3 converter but that can get troublesome sometimes

Google hasn’t failed me yet.

utube ftw!

Soulseek anyone?

iTunes
no illegal downloads okay thanks.

Limewire is full of ****. The only free downloading I do is Youtube vid softwares.

I get most of mine off of itunes b/c people always give me gift cards. But when i do run out, I do use limewire. I just found out though that my use of limewire has brought a ton of viruses onto my laptop

Google works wonders for me.
