oh, good...you remembered the coffee. So we can hold you to the promise? Good, then..as long as you make it in, we're all happy. (The acceptees, anyway.)

yeah, don't worry - I'll hold you to my promise but only ED acceptances...I don't think I have enough cash on me for the whole Pton CC class :p.

@ frist or @ starbucks? haha, let's plan ahead.

I'm not even sure which other colleges I'll apply... prolly Chicago, Yale or maybe Brown, Lehigh, Trinity...

Frist. I already had said that:
"coffee at frist on the first day for all ED CCtialers is on me" :)
Let's make it @ Caf

I'm banned from ever drinking coffee again after my blood pressure rose to 160/110 on drinking 6 cups of coffee on one horrible sepember day

fine, Akash will just have to drink green tea

or lemon tea:)

I really consider Princeton a match and not just a school I want to go to to boost my reputation or personal pride. I truly do not feel a match with other big name schools (e.g. the H school, the Y school, the S school). If I do not get accepted, I will go wherever they treat me like royalty. Schools on that list are Iowa State ($56 K grant), Texas A&M (full ride), Nebraska (full ride), and--the one I'm excited about--Washington University at St. Louis (potentially paid tuition + $2500 stipend). I may apply to Rice b/c it's close to home, that H school just for the hell of it (although, given a rejection from Princeton, an acceptance from the H school does not seem all too promising), and MIT for the sole purpose of competing with a former friend. In truth, I would chose my full-ride A&M over the biggest name ("H") in college education. I hope that says a lot about myself.

ZZ3

I don't think Princeton's a match for anybody...

Akash, now you seem like an ivy whore :)

I can see myself moving to the Yale board, but then I'll be kicking myself for Yale having such a low post count compared to Princeton, esp since I contributed like 500 posts to Pton.

ilcapo, hating Swarthmore sure fits into loving Haverford =)

Anyway, I hope I don't have to apply to:
Yale
Brown
Columbia
Georgetown
Tufts
UVa
BC

Considering I haven't started any other apps other than basic filling in the name stuff, I'm screwed.

Oh don't worry, I haven't started either, but I figure, with the five essays I wrote for princeton, I'll have a nice resevoir of essays to recycle for my other apps.

Dartmouth is my second choice - almost ended up applying there ED. I'm also applying to-

Brown
Cornell
Vanderbilt
University of Michigan (safety)

and have already been accepted at Michigan State University (wooo-hooo!)

I was planning on applying to Yale and Middlebury for a while, but have decided not to.

Good. I hated Middlebury. They were all rude and snobby and mean and the campus smelled like manure.

The manure thing - good to know, since I wasn't planning on doing a visit unless it turned out to be my top option (I made my main Eastern spring last winter, before I thought about applying there). But I decided that paying $40,000 a year for a college with very little name recognition whatsoever wasn't worth it.

It's not as if name recognition the primary reason that I'm applying to colleges - but if I'm going to pay that much, it should possibly be the little thing that would bump me over when applying for a job against someone of otherwise equal stats.

gracilisae: Hows michigan state university for CS??

Everyone add Trinity to the mix, cause I'm sure I'll end up there....

or maybe Tufts/Georgetown/Dartmouth

I absolutely REFUSE to go to a school where at least one other potential Princeton-ite isn't going.

Haha, now that's a new criteria! But I guess it shows the similarity in interests that all of us are applying to a lot of the same schools.

I don't think any school is going to accept me but maybe my standards are too high.

what, is harvard your safety? lol
