D is applying to MM in Collaborative Piano. 4 of the 7 schools she applied to required pre-screening. She passed 3 and is waiting for the 4th one. The program is very small compared to Piano Performance. One nationally recognized teacher told D that her program will take only 2-3 students this year and no more than 2 will be MM students. She also prefers applicants who are already working or have a MM. However the said teacher e-mailed D’s professor in piano accompaniment class that D is 1 of 5 MM applicants that passed the pre-screening. D did not think that her technique is better than those that did not pass this pre-screen. She believed that her instrumental and orchestral experience is a major factor since there was a telephone interview before she was allowed to send the pre-screening DVD and the teacher seemed intrigued by her instrumental background.

D has 3 auditions lined up in January starting 1/17. 2 auditions in 2 consecutive days in Feb. She fears that she is going to miss the 2nd one due to the weather.
