Where is the best place to purchase a TV near the Drexel campus?

Bump…we need to buy a printer also…any suggestions?

Is there a Fry’s or Best Buy in the area?

There are Staples stores around for printers: [Staples: Maps: Search Results](http://stores.staples-locator.com/staples/advantage.adp?address=&city=&stateProvince=&postalCode=19104&radius=20&x=24&y=8&recordId=&transaction=search&searchQuantifier=AND&maxSearchResults=20&pageresults=20&pwidth=600&country=US&county=&proxIconId=400)

Best Buys are a little further out: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=cat12093&type=page&allstores=yes&h=387

I don’t think we have Frys on the East Coast.

Thanks pageturner, we will have a car so other suggestions is greatly appreciated. Is there an East Coast Fry’s equivalent?

I don’t know if you would like to consider this…Overstock.com. They deliver everything for $2.95. I have purchased mattress, air filter to be delivered to my daughter on campus (not this campus).

No, I think Best Buy is the best we have, chain-store-wise. We have Radio Shack, but that’s probably not what you are looking for. There are a lot of little stores, which I suppose is a good thing, but I don’t know anything about them.

There are lots of Walmarts and a few Targets scattered about. There is a Lowe’s not too far away, but that isn’t going to help with the TV or printer.

My son and his roommates ordered their TV online. I think he used Amazon, but Overstock is a great suggestion. Just make sure the delivery address is the dorm address and doesn’t say “Drexel University” anywhere. If you do that the mail ends up going through the Drexel system and takes forever to get there (if at all).

Overstock.com is a great idea. I heard about the problems shipping to the campus. Coming from the west coast and trying to get things to PA is not all that easy. We are fying AA and they charge per bag and he was told if we shipped anything that arrives before he moves into the dorms…they will return it! I ended up shipping a large box to the hotel, and will purchase everything else in Philly. Never thought about moving logistics when he picked a school across the country…lol.

Two more questions…

Can you get HD channels in the dorms?

How large a TV will fit in the Towers rooms…without being too big?

I was thinking a 19 inch but my son wanted larger…what would be the largest size without being in jeopardy of getting knocked over or damaged? We have not seen the rooms we have no idea how much room is available.

I have found a few refurbished from overstock.com which are very reasonable, I can’t really see getting a 1080i if no HD channels are available.

Thanks

“No” on the HD, according to my source…
