I read on the Knox website that there is a 760 acres wooded area for hiking and the like that is apparently a part of the campus. However, collegedata.com says the campus is 80 something acres.

Can someone tell me where the wooded area is relative to the campus proper?

The biological field station, Green Oaks, is more than 700 acres and located about 20 minutes away from the campus near the Spoon River. As a Knox alum, I've been there many times, you can camp, canoe, hike, etc. there plus the environmental studies program uses it for a lot of weather research. The best even there is the annual prairie fire.

thanks, sgawor. I believe it was said a car is not necessary to have at Knox. However, how would you get over to this spoon river preserve? do you know if there is a bus?

is it a 20 minute car ride or a 20 minute walk?
