We just started optimization problems today.

where is your ap calc ab class?

We just started optimization problems today.

where is your ap calc ab class?

integrals...

We just finished curve sketching (slant asymptotes was our last topic on that). It's in the chapter of applied differentiation - we're gonna do max/min application problems next. But we started in september so that's just a synapsis for such.

We just took a test on extrema. Moving on to integrals next chapter.

What books are you guys using? And what chapters are you on?

extrema test tomorrow. We are using calculus: transcendental functions.

Extrema test next week.

optimization (finish last week)

HAHA, we just started "applications on diffentiation."

Are we really behind, or what?

calclus 7th ed
calclus with analytical geom

its a huge blue book that covers calc 1 2 3
seems like a waste of money since our school only goes up to calc ab

we are a week and a half into integrals, my class is really competitive 66 people are taking calc AB out of my 633 class. This is from a public school, were all previous years and for the next 3 years only 25 to 40 people will enroll in the class.

We will finish the material by the end of this semester, December 15
then a few months of review,ap test, then playing system link halo2 in the class for a month on projectors.
after test:
calc- video games
eng- movies
phycs- dont attend class,- oct. to may we go to a 0-period (one hour before school starts) once a week to get the claas time before the test then we dont have to go after the test.

application of integrals with area and volume test tomorrow

we just had a test with optimization and some basic integration on it.

we're at L'Hopital's rule and we just finished derivatives of inverses and inverse trigs and stuff. we didn't start on optimization, integration or whatever.

we just finished linear approximation

we just had a related rates quiz and graphing based on first and second derivatives test, we've been doing optimization, but we won't have a quiz on that until after thanksgiving

We're having a Curve Sketching Quiz tomorrow, then doing Optimization after that...

We finished optimization, curve sketching, and doing related rates at the moment, next we move on to integration.

u guys are so far behind...we are doing integrals

um... graphing functions using info taken from the 1st and 2nd derivatives... points of inflection, etc.

"u guys are so far behind...we are doing integrals"

Well, my school year didn't begin until September 8, which is later than most people (because I'm in Los Angeles). And it didn't really begin (that is, we didn't start doing stuff) until the following week, which was September 13.

I don't think anybody in this thread is "far behind," though. We finished Optimization today and we're going at the pace my teacher always goes at. She plans to be finished with the course sometime in March. I can understand Calc BC going at a faster pace, but there is, of course, less to cover in AB.
